The Stesicorea Scordia APS Musical Cultural Association was born on 03 February 2005 from previous musical associations present in the area. The 40 instrumentalists of the musical band, mostly young, directed today by M° Gabriele Rocco La Magna, come from various musical experiences: most have been part of other band groups present in the area, many are young who study at the Conservatories of Catania, Messina and Palermo, others have already graduated from the conservatory and have various concert activities under their belt (Band of the Province of Catania, Orchestra of the "Vincenzo Bellini" Conservatory of Catania, Regional Orchestra "Anbima Sicilia"). The association's activities include: the dissemination of music through the study and performance of ever new pieces in concert in order to enrich the band's repertoire, the recovery and consequent valorisation of local music and musicians, the the recording of marches and original pieces for band, the organization of musical courses for children and musical preparatory courses for the little ones.

Relevant activities:

• The setting up of an important music school with qualified teachers;

• The recording of three CDs with the marches of the local musician Vito Salvatore Monitto;

• Participation in 2007 with music and scenes in the film "I Vicerè" by Roberto Faenza with the soundtracks of M° Paolo Buonvino, shot in Catania and broadcast on cinema screens, first, and on RAI channels in fiction form, after;

• Participation in 2008 in the musical show "Through images" curated by Tony Brundo and in the staging of "Cavalleria Rusticana" curated by Sebastiano Ministeri, repeated in 2018;

• The collaboration in 2009 with M° Paolo Buonvino, then artistic director of the Teatro Massimo "Vincenzo Bellini" of Catania and with the "Calamus" ensemble of the Higher Institute of Musical Studies "Vincenzo Bellini" of Catania for the creation of the soundtrack of the fiction "Inspector Manara" broadcast on RAI;

• Participation in 2010 and 2011 in the international band competition "La batte d'oro" in Fiuggi;

• The publication in 2011 of the CD "Ritrovarsi" of original pieces for band and transcriptions of classical music, created by the publishing house "Marani Edizioni Musicali" in collaboration with M° Marco Monitto;

• The publication in 2012 of the box set "Le Musiche della Passione", containing a CD of funeral marches and a DVD of Holy Week in Scordia, created in collaboration with Paolo Barone;

• Participation on 03 August 2019 in the evening "Una spremuta di Musica" which sees the performance of the soundtrack "I Pizzini" by M° Paolo Buonvino with the collaboration of M° Franco Barresi;

• The publication in 2023 of the CD "Musical Masterpieces" of brilliant marches for band and transcriptions of classical pieces, created by the publishing house "Maranu Edizioni Musicali" in collaboration with M° Gabriele Rocco La Magna;

• Participation in 2023 with music and scenes in the film "Il Gattopardo" by Tom Shankland with the soundtracks of M° Paolo Buonvino, shot in Siracusa.
